Bill Burr

Coming after Patrice in this blog, it only makes sense that Bill Burr should go along with him since the two were good friends.  Coming out of the Boston comedy clubs, Burr represents that last of a dying breed of comics to me.  The east coast, no shit-taking, loud mouth comedians are among my favorite types of people to watch perform.  These aren't your nerdy-alternative pussy comics that say the word "awkward" in every other joke, no.  Bill is one of the rarest types of comedians in my eyes.  One minute he will go off on a rant about how the government is fucking the people over and by the way he talks and how passionate and funny he makes it, you will find yourself agreeing with him.  Right after he makes a great point he'll remind the audience that he has no idea what he is talking about and that he is a dumbass.

I love how Burr makes remarks about his intelligence by saying he's an idiot, but because he is so self-aware and conscious to the fact that he doesn't have a fucking clue as to what's going on in the world (like most people who just pretend they do), he's actually quite the opposite of dumb.

His podcast, The Monday Morning Podcast is among my top 5 favorite podcasts out there.  Rarely does he have guests on, so at first it may seem like he's a lunatic talking to himself, well he is, and it's hilarious.  From listening to him get upset and go on a 15 minute rant about something like how cashews are gay to hearing his opinions on foreign policy to even giving advice to listeners that write in, it's really one of the best podcasts if you're into good comedy.

His stand up special Let It Go, written in 2010 and is one of the funniest hour specials I have ever seen.  Just two years later he came out with a brand new hour in You People Are All The Same.  This should prove that he is among the hardest working comedians along with Louie C.K. and Joe Rogan.

For anybody who is into a ball-busting type of east coast comedy I cannot recommend Bill Burr enough!
So go check out his specials, even just clips on youtube and The Monday Morning Podcast, it's fuckin' free on iTunes for god's sake. In addition he created his own comedy podcast network with tons of popular and lesser known comic with their own podcasts, you can check it out at Allthingscomedy.com

Here's a clip from Let It Go. (click the title on the top part of the video screen to view it on youtube because it won't work here)
